Hello everyone and welcome to my home page.  My name is Steve Cox and I am currently employed with the  with an law enforcement agency in Horry County South Carolina. For those of you who do not know, Horry County (pronounced O-REE) is located on the East Coast and is bordered on the north by the North Carolina state line. The County is approximately 100 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina, and approximately 150 miles east of the State Capital, Columbia, South Carolina. Horry County encompasses 1,134 square miles (bigger than the State of Rhode Island) and boasts a population of over 196,000 year-round residents. Horry County welcomes millions of visitors annually to view its natural beauty, participate in a myriad of fun-filled activities, and enjoy the old-world southern charm. Horry County is known as part of the "Grand Strand" area and due to the many golf courses in the area, it is often called "The Golf Capital of the World".

On February 2, 1983, I started my law enforcement career as a telecommunicator with the City of North Myrtle Beach,  South Carolina. I was transferred to the Patrol Division a year later.  On October 2, 1987, I accepted a job with another department. I started out as a Patrolman and have worked through the ranks.

On September 26, 2003, I became divorced after being married for 13 years. I was granted Primary Custody of our beautiful daughter, Brittany who is now 16 years old and has me wrapped around her finger. LOL. She at the age now where she is testing my limitations, and I know it. She is a very good daughter and is doing really well in school (thank God!)
